“sock hop”
is a dance party from the 50s and 60s where teens would take off their shoes and dance in their socks on the wooden floors in a local gymnasium.
That's how the gatherings got their name.
We had good music, dancing, fun, food and great conversations!!
Game Night
was a great success with over 35 young adults gathering for games, grub, and gab.
We played some Jenga, Uno and Beer Pong, without the beer of course. Best of all prize were given to all our BINGO winners!
Spectacle Island
On July 27 Access 2 Community and Friendship left Boston Harbor for an afternoon on Spectacle Island. 100 people enjoyed hiking, picnicing and just hanging out. Many new friendships began and old ones renewed! A great afternoon had by all!
Our Co Director and artist Consuelo had a fashion show using our participants as models. Her designs are made from recycled/repurposed materials.
It was great fun wearing her ties, hats and other garmets. Can't wait for this years fashion show!
Love was in the air for our Valentine's party, held at the Cambridge Community Center. Nothing like good friends, good food, and fun while celebrating in a fully accessible environment! See what's in store for 2025!
About 50 of our participants set sail at the Piers Park Sailing Center. For some it was their first time sailing.
We had a wonderful time. Thank you Piers Park for this fully accessible program!!! INCLUSION FOR ALL!!!
Access 2 Community and Friendship kick off was held in November 2023 with our first Friendsgiving at the Cambridge Community Center. Made new friends great food. So much to be thankful for. Excited about this annual event!
